The E-Gazette accepts news tips, calendar notices, letters, photographs, and correction requests through the newsroom channels printed in the current edition. The E-Gazette does not accept submissions through a web form.
News tips
A useful tip names the event or decision, explains its local effect, and points to a record or person who can confirm it. A tip may be anonymous, but reporters need enough detail to verify its central claim. The newsroom does not promise coverage or confidentiality merely because information was submitted.
Calendar notices
Include the event name, sponsoring organization, date, start and end times, general location, cost, accessibility information, and the date by which plans are final. The calendar does not publish private residential addresses. Commercial promotions may be declined or handled separately from the community calendar.
Letters
Letters should address a local public matter and identify the writer by name and community. Publication is at the editor’s discretion. Letters may be shortened for clarity and length, and factual assertions may require documentation. Organized form letters may be summarized rather than printed individually.
Photographs
Submitters must have permission to share the image and should identify the photographer, date, location, and people shown. The newsroom may decline images involving children, private property, emergencies, or unclear ownership.
Corrections
Identify the article and the exact statement at issue. Supporting documents or firsthand details help the editor evaluate a request. Substantive changes are recorded on the corrections page.
Do not send medical records, account numbers, private legal documents, or other sensitive personal information with an initial tip.
