The E-Gazette is produced by a small newsroom. Beat assignments help readers find the right person, but everyone edits briefs and checks the Friday calendar when deadlines are close.
Anita Roscoe — editor and publisher
Roscoe assigns coverage, edits major county stories, writes occasional editor’s notes, and oversees corrections. She founded the email digest that became the E-Gazette.
Leon Mercer — county reporter
Mercer covers the county commission, planning, public works, public safety, and county finance. His stories emphasize motions, documents, implementation dates, and questions officials have not yet answered.
Pru Ellison — community reporter
Ellison covers libraries, schools, workforce programs, small businesses, and community events. She writes the newsroom’s longer people-centered features as well as practical reopening and schedule stories.
Mina Patel — calendar and copy editor
Patel assembles notices, verifies calendar details, edits copy, and maintains the corrections log. She also writes short service briefs when weather or facility changes affect more than one community.
Darius Wynn — visual contributor
Wynn photographs public spaces, weather, recreation, and community events on assignment. Captions identify the place and date and disclose when an image is illustrative rather than documentary.
The masthead lists newsroom roles, not a guarantee that one reporter handles every update. Stories carry a byline whenever a staff member performed original reporting; compiled notices identify the information source in the text.
